This article traces the profound epistemological roots of Kashmir back to the Sharada Peeth, historically recognized as the foremost university of the ancient Indian subcontinent. The piece argues that the spiritual architecture of Kashmiri Shaivism forms the indestructible bedrock of ‘Kashmiriyat’. It posits that the later Sufi-Reshi traditions were beautiful, syncretic extensions of this foundational humanism, asserting that modern peace-building must utilize this shared civilizational memory to immunize the youth against imported radicalism.
